We Survived Arizona and The Grand Canyon!
Well, we survived our trip! Here we are in our family picture outfits looking partially happy, although when it was actual picture time, Jewelia was sulking and Macey was crying. Sorry about that in your pictures, Grandma Mary. Here is a little log of our adventure:
PART I-THE TWELVE HOUR DRIVE

OK, so there is only so much 4 children can take driving straight for 12 hours. They all look so nice and pleasant there (well, except for Macey---she knew what was coming), but after about 7 hours it starts to get ugly. We left at 8 am and got to Arizona at 8 pm.
PART II-AT THE HOUSE
Much of the time in Arizona we just hung out at Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jim's house. I held the baby that never slept by herself, while Micah played chess with Uncle Mark.
Caleb loved his new baby friend, Cambria, and they played with Grandpa Jim.

Caleb had his own piano recital while Micah built awesome lego creations.

We took some time to go swimming and play in the pool. Macey didn't like the water at all. Troy learned how to do a belly flop. (Don't look at my whiteness!)
PART III-BOUNCE U
We went to Bounce U, which was a big bounce/slide type of place. The kids climbed, jumped, and slid.

Grandma Mary protected the little girls while Uncle Mark beat up Daddy.
Things were pretty good until Saturday when Troy got super sick. Well, Macey and Jewelia started out the trip not feeling very well, and Macey had a pretty bad fever the first couple of days, but everyone started to get sick into the 3rd day, except for lucky me and lucky Caleb.
When Monday came, I knew it was me that would have to do the long drive to the next adventure:
PART IV--TRIP TO THE GRAND CANYON

I made the long drive, and we made it to our campground. Troy wasn't feeling too great still, but he and Micah managed to build us our tent.
Then we began our hike up to see the Grand Canyon.
Oooh....look at the Grand Canyon! We made it!
We slept overnight with a crazy 19 month old who crawled over us the whole time, but we got some sleep and didn't freeze to death. Then in the morning we began our almost 9 hour trip to get back home. And we were running late, since we had to get the rental van back before 5:30, so let me tell you, I know how to go fast!! I think I averaged 90 mph most of the time home. I'm speedy!! Little sportscars, and my big bus. We were a team the whole way home!
But we made it!!! We had a good time, it was hard, it was fun, but thank goodness to be home!!! Hooray!!!
