Happy Birthday Dear

So Troy put this really flattering picture of me on his blog like he usually does, so I thought I'd return the favor.
No, really I think this is cute to see how much Macey is a copy of him. This is his birthday and he is all tuckered out for a nap. Macey, too.

See how they sleep just alike? (And, gee, goes to show how exciting we are that on both our birthdays we spent half the day sleeping!)

I hope you did have a good birthday though, dear. I wanted it to be. I made you chocolate brownies and the kids were so excited to make your special cards. I put thought into your presents so you wouldn't think your life was boring with just clothes.

I love you, Troy, and I hope I can make your birthday more exciting next year for the big double digits!

The Maceys Mommies Club

Today we met for the monthly Maceys Mommies Club activity. A group of us Moms (all of us work together at Maceys) got together to go to Wheeler Farm. Here I am with Amber, Robynne, Wendy and Amanda. I'm sad to say that I'm the veteran of the group--me in my old age and the only one with 4 kids. But you wouldn't know it since the boys were in school and I was just there with my younger girls.

We walked around and looked at cows, chickens, horses and ducks, and we tried to get some group pictures of the kids:

It's pretty funny when you try to get a picture together of 7 kids ages 3 and under. As you can see they did not want to stay in one place for long.

I think I managed one where they all kept in place for a moment:
Here's Landon, Sydney, Jewelia, Macey, Mahaley, Carson, and Addison:

I guess it was like one big playdate, but most of the babies just spent the time poking each other or eating each other's food or shoes.

Jewelia made a new friend in Sydney though. They were cute together.

Oh, and all you other Maceys Mommies---make sure you make it out next month!

Micah the Dancer

Today was one of the "Parent Watch Weeks" that they have at Micah's Dance class so we can see what they're working on. We watched Micah in tap and ballet. Isn't he the cutest boy? (Oh, yeah, he's the only boy!)

Recently he told me he likes Ballet more than tap. I think he does alright in both. He's only been taking classes for 3 months now. (He finished up 2 months last year at the end of their season, and this year he just started classes this month.) Here he is in his Christmas tap dance preview:

Here he is in some entertaining jumping around ballet moves:

And here he is in some more graceful ballet moves:

It's one of Micah's dreams to be in the real Nutcracker ballet someday. We missed the auditions this year, but I promised him next year we could look into trying out for a kids role. (Nothing major, just maybe one of the kids that dance at the beginning at the Christmas party.)

What Good Is All That Hair?!

Macey is our one child that was born with lots of hair, and yet you'd think I could actually make a little piggy tail by now. I tried today, and I guess that's about all I got out of it--a teeny tiny little piggy tail.

I guess she's got a lot of hair but it's still so thin there isn't much I can do with it. Poor little girl. She really wants more hair. I suppose that's why she keeps trying to yank out everyone else's.

Just the Girls

So, now that the boys are both in school all day long, that just leaves us girls. It actually was kind of sad at first like something was missing. Then it was kind of eerie. Then I guess I've slowly gotten used to the more QUIETness.

Usually the day is filled with trying to keep Macey happy, but she can be content sometimes....she's just particulary needy.

She always does this lizard thing with her tongue, I finally got it on video:

And the rest of the time Jewelia and I are having preschool, watching PBS, window shopping, or going to dance class.

Here is a video of what Jewelia learned at her last class:

Oh, and isn't she lucky to have all that naturally curly hair?

Yep, I'm Crazy!

So, one day I was bored, and I thought, gee, I need some color in our house. So, I glanced out the doorway of my room and thought, hmmm....I think I'll paint the door frames different rainbow colors. Yeah, one blue, one green, and one red.

So, of course this was a surprise to Troy who came home and totally FREAKED out, and sure, I might have been using acrylic paint that wasn't the best idea, but hey, it was entertaining at the time.

Anyway, I did end up going to the hardware store and getting real paint, and yeah, it's different, but it is unique.

Now we can say "I live in the red room." Or, "Jewelia is in the blue room." Or "Go upstairs to the green room."

It's just a door frame after all. I didn't go gung-ho! And I think it's fun. Troy is just waiting for my next crazy project that he'll come home to. (Oh, and he isn't upset about the door frames anymore. He thinks they look fine now.)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hooray! It's my birthday Sunday! We mostly celebrated on Saturday though.

Thanks to everyone for the nice cards, money and presents they sent.

See me in one of my new shirts from my Mommy?

And thanks to Dad and Sally for the money so we could go out to dinner!

We went to my favorite restaurant, Rafael's. It is the best for chicken enchiladas!

The kids gave me some cute cards, and I got a necklace and a new outfit from Troy:

So now I am OLDer. So sad.......

Yea for Uncle Nathan!

Hooray for Uncle Nathan, he got a new job!

Today starts his first day at the University of Utah Credit Union.

(Don't worry, his tie was in the car.)

We are all proud and excited for Uncle Nathan in his new adventure as a teller.

Good luck!!!
