Micah Gets His Wolf (and some other stuff)

Tuesday was the Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet where Micah got his Wolf and then 3 arrow points. He earned these 2 months ago, but he had to wait until they finally had a pack meeting to get them. (Notice I don't even have to sew it on because I have this nifty patch holder thingy.)

Here he is pinning the wolf pin on me. See---I even have a special ribbon necklace thing that I keep all my pins on.

Micah has been doing well in cub scouts earning all the things he needs. He's even earned some belt loop things. They are kind of biased in the belt loop categories though. They seem to offer awards in any sport, and even gymnastics, but there are no categories for dance. Well, we think that isn't very fair.

Good job Micah! He is now officially a bear.

Little Angel, or Little Trouble Maker?

So recently Macey decided that she wasn't going to take a nap these past couple days. No....she'd rather grab all the toys and books off the shelves and throw them all over the floor or in her crib.

But of course, can I get mad at her? I come in to see why she isn't sleeping (and this is the 2nd time I tried to put her down for a nap when she wouldn't go to sleep after an hour) and this is a picture of what she was doing:

Yes, she may have had all the books all over the place and in her crib again, but how can you be upset with a little girl reading away? And in particular---reading the "I am a Child of God" Jesus book. Yeah, priceless!

Micah's 9 Year Old Pictures

Look at my cute Micah boy! We took him out to get his 9 year old pictures this last week. I think they turned out pretty cute.

I wanted to get them taken before the sadness of his new orthodontic jaw expander was put on and he would become a drool monster. Poor kid, he got it on this morning and although he can still talk alright, he's having a tough time trying to figure out how to swallow.

Anyway, here all all the cute shots they took:

Now, this crazy face one kind of scares me actually, but the photographer was practicing this new crazy face thing and she told him to make a crazy face so this is what she got.
It kind of reminds me of the face you would make when saying, "I'm not really Micah, I'm one of those alien guys from Invasion of the Body Snatchers!!"

And this last one has kind of a hidden meaning that you wouldn't be able to tell, but he's standing in 3rd? 4th? 5th? position in ballet because he loves to dance ballet.

He's getting so big! We made this agreement that he can have his own room when he is bigger than me. We will see how long I can stretch that deal!
