Micah's 12 Year Old Photo Shoot

Micah is a big 12 year old now.
We took him to get his 12 year old pictures taken.

First we had him dress nice.  The photographer informed me that his tie was a bit too long.
Well, I don't know how to tie a tie and oh well to that.....

So, we hid it with a suit coat.

Then, enough of the serious stuff, lets bring out some fun props!
We brought both of Micah's guitars.

I thought this was very much a "Beatles" shot:

He was soooo cute with his acoustic guitar poses:

Still dressed up, it was time to throw on some casual wear.
Yeah, let's put on the guitar shirt.

I even got one shot without his glasses on, although Micah has always preferred to wear his glasses in all pictures.  Gotta see those brown eyes sometimes though!

Micah is so handsome.
No, really, he's a decent looking kid.  I think I'd think he was a cute boy if I was a 12 year old girl.

Happy Birthday Micah Boy!!!

Oh, my!  Micah has turned 12 years old!  Can you believe it?  See my lovely cake I made?  It's supposed to be a fox named "Tails" that has 2 tails that plays alongside Sonic the Hedgehog.  Here's a picture of Micah holding his Tails by his cake so you can get a better idea:

Look at him, though.  He's so old.
12.
It wasn't so long ago that he was a teeny little baby.

What a cute little baby.

It's funny that long ago he was a little blond haired, blue eyed kid.

That didn't last long though.  Soon his hair turned dark like his daddy's and his eyes turned dark brown.
Here he is at age 4 and 5:

Then, the 1st day of school:

Age 6 and 7:

Then he got glasses.  He looked a little older from 8-10.

Even older at 11:

But then 12 years old!  Look at my handsome young man!
I found him a suit to wear to church, as he was now going to be a Deacon!  No more primary.  It was all young mens now!

Micah was set apart by his dad and after church he got to have a little party.
He even blew out all 12 of his candles in 1 breath!

Macey colored Micah a nice picture for a present:

Jewelia drew him a nice picture:

Grandpop and Grammy came and Uncle Tee and Aunt Kara and Kaitlyn and Mary came.

Later, Grandma and Aunt Harvest, Summer, Willow, Megan, and Uncle Nathan came to visit.
I told him he had to grow at least taller than one of them in this picture.

Micah had a wonderful day.  I asked him if it was the best birthday ever and he said, "But I like all my birthdays!"  Micah is a good kid.

Our Happy Christmas

We had a very busy Christmas season, but it all ended up with a very nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

On Christmas Eve, we did the traditional Christmas Eve dinner at Troy's family's house that we do each year.  The cousins have a lot of fun being together.  Jewelia and Haley like to play together, and Macey likes to play with Kaitlyn.  Too bad the boys are kind of loners, but they take care of the babies at times.

After Christmas Eve dinner, we hurried home to open up our Christmas Eve pajamas!
Everyone was happy with their new PJ's!

We all went to bed to wake up to Christmas surprises!!

Except, this year was different.  Since Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, we all agreed that we wouldn't open presents until after church.  Yep, that's right, AFTER.  And no, we didn't have 9 am church, we had 11 am church.

I know what you are thinking.  You're thinking, "Are you kidding?!  What a mean mean mommy!  No way the kids are going for that!"
Well, you are wrong.  It really wasn't any big deal, as there are a few gifts not wrapped and the kids could look through their stocking and play with their dolls or stuffed animals before church.
Actually it was really nice.  We got to sleep in, have time to get ready for church and practice the kids' songs they were going to perform in Sacrament meeting.

The kids did awesome at church!  Jewelia played her first violin solo and was perfect!  Caleb did well playing his solo and accompanying Jewelia perfectly.  Micah was great singing in the choir and doing his duet and quartet, and even Troy was great there singing with the few tenors in the choir.

It all led to a very nice day, then we came home to a visit from Grammy and Grandpop.

Finally about 2 pm we began opening our gifts.
2 pm!??
Yes, it was all nice though.  We even ate a little lunch before, and everyone was great!

Here are some pictures of the fun gifts the kids received:

Macey loved her little castle tent!

Jewelia had a new ride for her Barbies, and both Macey and Jewelia had there very own Tangled dolls.  Macey had the baby, and Jewelia had the little girl:

Caleb was so excited about his "build a road" track, and as you can see in the background, Micah got a new music stand that actually holds his guitar music straight (as the old one was bent sideways hanging over).

Macey got a new puzzle:

Oh, yes, life would not be complete without the new Salt Lake City Street Guide book 6th edition for Caleb:

Micah was ready to attack with a new marshmallow gun:

And he got a cool Lego ice dragon set that he spent no time in building:

Oh, yes, there was a cute present for me under the tree:

Aren't you jealous?

Anyway, we all had a very nice Christmas and enjoyed all of our gifts and fun times we spent together.  Thanks to all who helped give us a great Christmas!
