Moving On (and secretly crying)

Ah, remember when I could look into my girls' room and see a cute little toddler bed and a cute crib? Well, those happy times are over.

After almost 10 years of having the crib up, we took it all down last night. Jewelia is 4 1/2 years old now and she's practically been hanging off of the toddler bed. We know she's big enough for a big girl bed, but I've been putting it off.

Macey is turning 2 years old this week. It's usually the time the kids transition from the crib to the toddler bed, but this time it's different. I have always been able to leave the crib up ready for the next baby. But this time that won't be happening.

How depressing! It's my crib, the sign of cute little babies! Now there are no more babies at my house. Oh, the sadness. I couldn't put it off any longer, and Jewelia really is old enough for a twin bed, so we had to make the transition.

Yes, I cried when it came down, but I'm trying to make up for it by the cuteness of the girls' "new room".

We moved the toddler bed to the other side and built the bottom of Jewelia's bunk bed which we bought over a year ago and have had stored away in the storage closet.

It actually turned out pretty cute.
We already had the princess bedspread from last Christmas for Macey,

And we found a really cute bedspread for Jewelia:

Both the girls seemed so happy and excited about their new beds that I'm trying to be a little more happy about it myself.

As Troy says, "It's not an ending, it's a beginning."

Ah, he can think whatever, it still makes me sad as I see my beautiful crib against the wall all taken apart. So sad, so sad.

But hey, here's to the future!
