Babysitting
This week we are babysitting little baby Garrick, the kids' baby cousin. What a cute little boy he is. The kids just love having him around. He is so good! It amazes me! I have always felt so awkward with newborns and little babies, even after having 4 kids!
No, seriously! My kids never really cuddled in my arms or wanted me to snuggle up with them. I figured it was because of my hard little bony arms or something, or I guess I just sucked with babies, but this little baby is different.
He seems to fit OK in my arms and he will relax in my arms just fine, unlike my own kids who always arched their backs and it was a struggle to keep them held snugly. Well, gee, what is up with that? Maybe this kid is just different, or what was the deal with my own kids? Or really, maybe after having all my kids I finally figured something out? Why couldn't I have figured it out before?
It is all odd, but anyway, I am just glad at least one baby doesn't hate me. So life is good. Although, Macey is a little disturbed by this new presence. She doesn't seem to understand why this little baby gets to ride in her backpack or her stroller or sit in an oh so fun looking bouncy seat when she is too big. She says, "No, I'M your baby precious!" Poor little Macey. She will always be my baby precious.
