Our Happy Easter

Every Easter I get everyone dressed up and hope that we can take a nice family picture in our Easter clothes. Of course, I don't know why I try so hard, because usually the kids are all hyped up on sugar and no one can handle sitting still, smiling, or just not annoying their brother or sister. And of course for some reason all my kids be moles and can't handle any form of sunlight, or lack there of because it is just tooooo bright outside for them to be able to open their eyes or not be rubbing their eyes no matter which way we face.

Anyway, this about sums up our experience of trying to get a picture of the whole family together:

We can't quite figure out if bribery or threats work better at trying to get these kids just to stand still for a minute, but we eventually ended up with some cute pictures of the kids.

Trust me, it took many many many shots before we got the one above.

Jewelia:

Macey was the most difficult to photograph, but we finally got her after like a bazillion shots:

And here are the boys:

Troy and I talk about how different they look from one another, like you couldn't even tell they are brothers. Different eyes, different ears, different noses, different hair, different smiles, different head shapes, eyebrows.....how interesting it is.

Anyway, we had a nice quiet Easter where I cooked and we watched some church movies about Jesus. Easter is so wild and crazy with all that sugar, that we try to keep Sundays pretty mellow.

Saturday, however, we have the traditional Easter egg fun. This year we dyed eggs while we ate pizza!

Everyone concentrating on their creations:

Daddy made some nice eggs. (We won't comment on the egg he messed up on that says "I love Momy")

Caleb managed to only break one of his eggs.

I made a really cool swirly rainbow egg:

And Micah made some great Pokemon eggs:

Jewelia tried a few different colors:

And Macey made some yellow ones, but we're not sure where she went. She has been on a sugar high all weekend running around like crazy and just being plain ornery.

We tried to get the kids to stop eating the candy this morning, but by early afternoon their Easter baskets were just about empty. I had to take all the candy and hide it up in the pantry. Oh....so much sugar!!!!! I swear I think we're going to have to eat vegetables for the rest of the week to make up for it.

Anyway, we hope you all had a very happy Easter!
