Arizona Family Reunion
This summer was the 3rd time we traveled to Arizona for our family reunion with Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jim. We go every 2 years to Arizona to see Becca's brothers and sister and families.
Every time we have gone someone has gotten deathly ill.
Luckily, this year we were all healthy!!!
We had lots of fun. The kids had fun playing together inside.
JP and Ashlyn liked to play on this Ipad? thing and they showed our kids how it worked.
Macey found a new friend in her cousin Cambria. While they didn't seem to want anything to do with one another the first night, by the next day and through the weekend they were right next to each other chasing each other around the house and playing the "stretchy spider" game.
We had lots of fun in the pool. The kids liked having noodle wars and water gun wars and riding on this giant floatee thing.....
Micah loved splashing everyone,
It was a little too violent for me, so this was my view much of the time:
One day, Uncle Mark and Troy went to some outdoor store to entertain some of the kids.
Ashlyn, JP, and Jewelia went and enjoyed looking at all the dead stuffed animals.
We found Troy a new cool hat, and he thought he was stylin'!
Aunt Rachel showed us how to make fruit pizzas on sugar cookies.
One day we went on a fun boat ride on one of those old paddle wheel boats.
Micah loved building all sorts of lego creations once again,
Caleb liked to play chess,
and Grandma Mary taught Jewelia how to play chopsticks which she then entertained anyone who came by with a little chopstick concert for the rest of the trip.
It was very very hot there. The only way I can describe it is if you went outside it was like you were standing behind a huge furnace and it sucked the air out of you and you wanted to die. Kind of weird, but it made us all never want to live there. (Sorry Arizona family!) But it was true, it was different. It was like you were outside for 3 minutes and you felt like you were going to die, not the heat exactly, not sure what, the desert? the air? hmmm....can't explain it too well, but Troy and I agreed.
I suppose it was one of the hottest times to go there.
It tuckered Macey all out!
We had lots of fun and yummy food and everyone got along really well. Caleb even got to play the piano in church on Sunday and he did a really good job.
We all had fun, and the kids can't wait to go there again for the next family reunion.
Thanks Grandma Mary and Grandpa Jim for having us!
